Job Description

Position Summary

The SFS & Non-Fuel Manager is responsible for leading and expanding all non-fuel business operations across the company’s retail network in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This role oversees the performance, development, and execution of convenience retail, automotive services, alternative revenue streams, and other value-added offerings, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and uphold compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and performance of all non-fuel business segments, including convenience stores, car wash operations, quick lube services, strategic partnerships, and other ancillary retail offerings.
  • Directly supervise team members responsible for convenience retail operations, automotive services, alternative energy initiatives, and technical support functions.
  • Develop and implement programs designed to strengthen non-fuel business performance, ensuring successful deployment, adoption, and execution across the retail network.
  • Oversee departmental marketing initiatives, including planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and performance measurement.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new business concepts and revenue streams, managing projects from feasibility assessment through implementation while coordinating with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Technical teams.
  • Establish, maintain, and update operational standards, procedures, policies, and tools related to non-fuel activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company expectations.
  • Design and facilitate training programs for dealers, operators, and internal personnel on topics such as food service operations, HACCP compliance, category management, and customer experience.
  • Monitor and analyze sales, revenue, and profitability metrics for all non-fuel activities, preparing regular reports and recommendations for leadership review.
  • Develop strategies and action plans to improve operational performance, increase profitability, and optimize business processes.
  • Coordinate collection processes related to non-fuel business revenues and rental agreements in collaboration with Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Manage systems and technologies supporting front-office and back-office operations for non-fuel businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, identifying operational gaps and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Negotiate with vendors and service providers while maintaining strong commercial relationships and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Conduct periodic market and competitive analysis, evaluating pricing, promotions, emerging concepts, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support site openings, remodels, rebranding projects, and post-launch evaluations to ensure successful implementation and operational readiness.
  • Maintain effective relationships with third-party operators and business partners to protect company interests and ensure alignment with performance expectations.
  • Coordinate the transfer, installation, and relocation of marketing and operational equipment throughout the retail network.
  • Facilitate effective communication across internal departments and external stakeholders to maximize business performance and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team aligned with the organization’s commercial objectives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to support product development, innovation initiatives, and operational execution.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
  • Serve on designated corporate committees and provide administrative or governance support as required.
Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based but requires frequent travel throughout Puerto Rico to visit retail locations and business partners. Occasional visits to training facilities, operational sites, or terminals may be required. The role involves standard office activities, including extended computer use, sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials up to 10 pounds. Availability outside normal business hours may be necessary depending on operational needs. Limited international travel may also be required.

QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or a related field preferred.
Language Requirements
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales, marketing, retail operations, consumer goods, convenience retail, or related industries.
  • Experience within the fuel retail, convenience store, or service station sector is highly desirable.
