Position Summary
The Outpatient Therapist provides individual, family, and/or group therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns. The therapist works collaboratively with clients, families, and an interdisciplinary treatment team to support emotional well-being, symptom reduction, and overall functioning in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults using evidence-based therapeutic approaches
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing treatment planning
- Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and families
- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
- Comfortable using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and data review
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, and other community resources as appropriate
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and required trainings
- Adhere to ethical standards, agency policies, and state and federal regulations
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
- Licensed or license-eligible (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent, depending on state requirements)
- Experience providing therapy to children and/or adults with mental health diagnoses preferred
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices
- Strong communication, organizational, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Familiarity with outpatient or community mental health settings
- Bilingual skills a plus (if applicable)
- Ability to navigate EHR systems to document service provided
Work Environment
- Outpatient clinic setting
- May include in-person and/or telehealth services
