Police Dispatcher in Pevely, Missouri at City of Pevely

The Pevely Police Department is accepting applications for a Police Dispatcher. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and be able to work shift work, including weekends and holidays. This is a full-time position with a salary ranging from $21.20 to $23.75 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug testing, a physical exam, a background check, and a psychiatric evaluation.

· High School Diploma or GED

· Ability to speak and enunciate the English language clearly.

· Ability to type at least 40 words per minute, multitask, and read on a computer while talking on the phone.

· Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and remain calm during emergencies.

· Ability to maintain records.

· Have a pleasant and well-modulated voice.

· Ability to effectively communicate information both orally and in writing.

· Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision

· Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine the proper course of action and response.
