Job Purpose

This position plays a vital role in promoting and embodying the mission, vision, and values of YUGM. This role provides essential support to the Community Engagement department by assisting with marketing, development, donor relations, and gift processing efforts. The position plays a key role in the cultivation and stewardship of Mission donors and contributes to the successful execution of donor and community events.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cultural and Ministerial Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote YUGM’s Christian beliefs and behaviors, core values, policies, and procedures with a high-level of integrity.
  • Develop professional, caring, strengths-based relationships built on truth, respect, encouragement, and trust.
  • Provide ministry and show kindness and grace to staff, volunteers, clients, donors, and the community.
  • Support initiatives that foster a culture of services, compassion, and faith within the workplace.
  • Engage in opportunities to pray for individuals, departments, strategic plans and other YUGM needs.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining catalytic and engaging relationships with community partners including churches, schools, businesses, civic organizations, etc.
  • Assist in outreach and communication to community partners expressing the needs of the organization in pursuit of gift-in-kind donations and local business/organization monetary gifts.
  • Present at community events/services as a YUGM representative as needed.
  • Work as a member of the Community Engagement team to solve departmental problems and accomplish shared goals in pursuit of strategic priorities.
  • Effectively coordinate and collaborate with CE team members regarding strategies for donor engagement and the collection and use of donor data.
  • Participate with CE team in design, planning & execution of successful events.
  • Work with YUGM leaders to help appropriately communicate the needs of the organization to the community.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as backup for Gift Processing, including processing monetary donations, completing necessary reporting, and receipting donors in a timely manner.
  • Assist marketing team with coordination of collateral orders, delivery of collateral materials, marketing ticket system management, and other tasks as needed.
  • Utilize database to maintain accurate records of donor contacts, events, and sponsorships.
  • Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM trainings and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any policy changes, new procedures, and other information essential to performing the job.?
  • Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM’s mission and values.?
Requirements:

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit, development, marketing, or administrative roles.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events of all sizes.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, or relevant alternative.

Proficiencies:

  • Detailed, creative, deadline-oriented, and comfortable managing projects with urgency.
  • A team-oriented self-starter with the initiative to grow community relationships with the Mission.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate personal and work ethic reflecting YUGM’s Core Values of Love, Professionalism, and Outcomes.

Working Conditions:

Primary duties of this position are performed in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Some travel between store locations required. May require occasional evening or weekend work based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Visual and auditory abilities to effectively perform job tasks.
  • Clear and fluent communication in English.
  • Capable of walking, climbing stairs, balancing, bending, reaching, and using hands for tasks.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
