**Tunnel Superintendent at The Boring Company – Las Vegas, Nevada

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
Responsibilities

• Oversee field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations.
• Act as the subject matter expert for tunnel and underground structures.
• Lead less experienced employees in safe productive work procedures.
• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to implement innovative solutions.
• Troubleshoot problems and supervises troubleshooting in primary secondary systems.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment and tools are in good working order.
• Conduct pre-job or tailgate briefings.
• Comply with reporting procedures.
• Coordinate transportation activities.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 5+ years of experience working in tunnels.
• OSHA 30 or greater.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of tunnel operations.
• Working knowledge of tunnel boring machines.
• Knowledge of site layout, steel work, concrete, and form work.
• Working knowledge of mining equipment, such as excavators, front loaders.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, such as jacklegs, and air tools.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 5 years of experience as a foreman or in a supervisory capacity.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Ability to travel for short and extended trips as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in heavy construction areas.
