Medical Screener

In response to growth, Dietrich Dental Implants and Oral Surgery is looking for an experienced Medical Screener. We are a busy, productive office that requires someone with strong organizational and communication skills and who has a sense of urgency and is a fast learner. We are in Canton, Ohio and will be soon opening a second location in Akron, Ohio. We are looking to hire for both locations.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provides concierge level customer service while interacting with patients, referring offices, and team members over the phone, in person, or via electronic communication
• Answer the phone promptly with a smile.
• Schedules/modifies appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of exam and treatment rooms.
• Responsible for assessing patients’ health status by collecting vital information like medical history, surgical history, and medication history.
• Accurately record all patient information in electronic medical records, provide basic health information and instructions regarding procedures.
• Medical coordination patient tracking (gather medical information, fill out coordination forms, and referral communication)
• Referral communication via email and mail.
• Maintains professional relationship with referring offices.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of customer service experience required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of dental and medical terminology.
• Friendly, inviting, and professional personality and presence.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
