About This Position

Job Overview:

In addition to the clinical practice role of the Advanced Practiced Provider APP, the APP Fellowship Program Director oversees and manages daily functions of the fellowship program. The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physician. The APP provides rapid response care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. In addition, the APP is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. This is a hospital based position.

  • Current NJ APN/PA license required
  • NCCPA certification required
  • CDS required
  • DEA required
  • BSN required
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time
  • Day Shift
  • 40 Hours

Essential Functions:

  • In addition to the clinical practice role of the Advanced Practiced Provider APP, the APP Fellowship Program Director oversees and manages daily functions of the fellowship program.
  • Acts as the APP fellowship program representative to hospital committees
  • Supervises, leads, and is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating APP fellowship program design, development, maintenance, and improvement projects
  • Meets and collaborates with nursing and medical program leadership as well as other stakeholders for program development
  • Oversight of fellowship program scheduling e,g,
    • daily, rotation, annual
    • interview all prospective APP fellows
    • Onboarding of new APP fellows
    • Monitor APP fellows files current licensure, certifications, etc,
  • APP Fellow counseling action plans, Focused Professional Practice Evaluation FPPE etc,
  • Responds to and addresses identified clinical and non-clinical issues of APP fellows
  • Accountable for decision-making related to orientation extension
  • Accountable for program s curriculum development educational content and resources and transition to practice activities such as organizational enculturation e,g,
  • orientation and practice-based learning e,g,
  • high fidelity simulation
  • Directs educational needs and plans in collaboration with APP fellowship program faculty, personnel, and preceptors to meet these needs
  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating outcomes related to orientation, transition to practice, and program development activities e,g,
  • reviewing APP fellowship evaluation forms and modifying the program as needed
  • Oversee and assist faculty, personnel, and preceptors with performance evaluations
  • Monitoring and Editing of finances e,g,
  • billing related to the program
