Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals
- Follow planned menus while accommodating patient preferences and special dietary needs
- Deliver patient meals at scheduled times
- Maintain safe food temperatures and follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Keep the kitchen, nourishment areas and equipment clean and organized
- Complete required food service and safety logs
- Receive and inspect food and supply deliveries
- Help maintain appropriate food and supply inventory
- Assist with catering and organizational events as needed
- Transport meals to other AMOREM locations when assigned
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Coordinator and patient care unit staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Enjoys preparing food and serving others
- Dependable, organized and attentive to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Committed to cleanliness, food safety and quality
- Able to follow menus, recipes and dietary instructions
- Comfortable learning basic computer and recordkeeping tasks
- Respectful and compassionate when interacting with patients, families and coworkers
- Understanding of therapeutic diets is helpful but not required
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous cooking or food service experience is preferred. Experience may be from a restaurant, school, healthcare facility, senior living community, catering operation or similar setting.
Licensure/Certification: ServSafe certification is required within six months of hire.
Physical Demands
- Frequent walking and standing
- Ability to bend, reach and perform routine kitchen tasks
- Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary for food preparation, equipment use and record keeping
