Plant Coordinator - Waldo
Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for the coordination, communication, and the execution of flow of materials and product to and from suppliers and external customers, to meet scheduled delivery requirements.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Works on-site at the facility, within ERP System and scheduling tools.
- Review and monitor production schedule for planning of product needs.
- Review inventory levels to minimize loss and prevent shortage.
- Track inbound orders while in transit.
- Generate Purchase Orders in the ERP System and transmit them to the selected vendor.
- Ensure Purchase Order information is accurate; edit orders based on production schedule changes.
- Work in conjunction with the Sales Team.
- Ensure seamless operations to meet customer commitments.
- Create forecasts and set safety stock levels by item.
- Maximize throughput by reviewing available line time.
- Work in conjunction with the Operations Team.
- Communicate regularly with the Plant Manager, Purchasing Support and Logistics Specialists to ensure orders arrive on time and in full.
- Communicate regularly with customers and CSRs on shipment schedules.
- Ensure that if there is a potential for a shortage or interruption in supplies that the affected parties are notified promptly.
- Explore and optimize efficiencies to increase throughput.
- Ensure WIP process flow continues with finished goods
Relationship Management
- Interact with vendors and customers ensuring a consistently positive experience.
- Build relationships with vendors and customers through regular communication regarding purchase orders, schedule changes, and delivery status.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred
- 3-5 years of production planning/material management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of purchasing, scheduling, and inventory control
- Self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Demonstrated problem-solving experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability and experience operating within an ERP System
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
- Non-remote full-time position
