REBAR Chelsea is a vibrant and inclusive LGBTQ+ lounge located in the heart of Manhattan. As we continue to grow and revitalize our space, we’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Porter to help keep our venue clean, welcoming, and running smoothly behind the scenes.

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the bar, lounge, bathrooms, and common areas. This role is essential to ensuring guests and staff enjoy a clean, safe, and inviting environment during operational and non-operational hours.

• Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors throughout the venue, including bar area, main floor, bathrooms, back-of-house, and entryway

• Clean and restock all restrooms regularly (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.)

• Empty and dispose of trash, recyclables, and used bar materials in accordance with NYC sanitation rules

• Deep clean designated areas during closed hours (e.g., behind bars, under furniture, mirrors, glass, walls, etc.)

• Notify management of any damages, maintenance issues, or supply shortages

• Maintain supply inventory and inform manager when restocking is needed

• Uphold cleanliness standards in outdoor sidewalk/courtyard area in accordance with NYC health code

• Accept and help with deliveries through the week by verifying and signing and unpackaged inventory and put on shelves.

• Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter work (hospitality or nightlife experience preferred)

• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete tasks on time

• Able to lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

• Must be punctual, dependable, and maintain a professional attitude

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures is a plus
