Reports to Open Access Manager

Summary/Objective

Under the direction of the Open Access Manager, the Open Access Scheduler will schedule new and established patients for procedures or office visits appropriately based off a medical intake screening they conduct.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts Open Access assessments for patients.
  • Reviews Open Access assessments with patients that they have filled out online.
  • Collects Insurance information, reviews demographics and schedules procedures or office visits.
  • Reviews procedure prep information with patients and answers questions they may have.

Competencies

Excellent customer service.

Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, & ICD-10 codes.

Ability to work cooperatively with managers and peers.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Physical Demands

Sitting for long periods of time.

Repetitive hand movement due to extended computer use.

Extensive phone and computer usage.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full Time / 40 hours of work per week

Travel

Some intermittent travel may be required for training.

Education and Experience MA or LPN

Medical office experience preferred.

Bilingual is a plus.

Skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams) preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

As a condition of employment, a complete background investigation will be conducted based on the rules of the specific State in which the employee is hired. Typically, the state investigative process includes a state and federal background check. In addition, a drug screen will be required. TB testing will also be required for all patient-facing roles.
