About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
Based out of the Harrisburg University campus and reporting to the Director of Recruitment, the Admissions Recruiter for Central and Eastern PA is responsible for representing the University at various recruitment events including college fairs, high school visits, and other events as assigned by the Director of Recruitment. The successful candidate will work with the Director of Recruitment and Vice President for Enrollment Management to determine recruitment territory based on potential yield of prospective students and optimization of University resources. The successful candidate will engage in all aspects of the domestic recruiting efforts for the University, including recruitment events, activities, outreach via college fairs and high school visits for the traditional undergraduate population. This position will be expected to travel extensively for the University and will be based on campus in the Admissions Office to assist with prospective student visits, tours and information sessions as needed. This position will also be responsible for their freshmen recruitment territory currently Central and Eastern PA, which is subject to change based on University needs, for first-year students. Recruitment efforts will be evaluated on achievement of enrollment targets.
WORK HOURS
This position entails extensive recruitment travel throughout Pennsylvania and their assigned territory. The Admissions office located in Harrisburg, PA is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and during non-travel seasons the recruiter is expected to be in the Admissions Office 4 days out of the work week to assist with prospective student visits with 1 day remote work per week from home. In order to accommodate the University's business needs, employees may be required to work outside regular working days and/or hours, including evenings and weekends. Employees may be required to work overtime and some evening and weekend travel is required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred.
· Recruitment, tour guide or sales experience preferred, although not required for the right candidate who can demonstrate the right soft skills for the position: pleasant and cordial demeanor, desire to help students and families through the University enrollment process, competitive nature pertaining to recruitment goals.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (reimbursement will be provided)
· Proficiency or ability to learn Windows and Microsoft Office, email, computer systems

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may vary and other duties may be assigned.
Functional:
· Schedule and attend college fairs and individual high school visits in a proactive manner.
· Attending and assisting with admissions activities for campus events.
· Reviewing applications and collecting of needed documents to assist applicants complete their application.
· Inputting needed information into Slate CRM to ensure accurate record keeping for student application tracking (will be trained if no prior experience).
· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on systems.
· Corresponding with prospective students regarding admission applications via telephone, e-mail and written communication. Answering inquiries and interviewing prospective students.
· Maintaining up to date knowledge of Harrisburg University and its academic programs, support services, faculty and student accomplishments, financial aid and billing procedures.
· Meeting with and conducting tours for parents and students.
· Prospective student, applicant and inquiry data entry.
· Developing relationships with high school counselors, parents, and prospective students.
· Any other duties as assigned within the Admissions scope of an admissions recruiter/counselor.
· Perform various other duties as needed to support the mission and vision of the University
