Role Description
As a Happier Grocery Cashier, you are essential to delivering a warm and seamless customer experience. You will support store operations by building relationships with customers, processing transactions efficiently, fulfilling online orders, and maintaining our floor and inventory standards. This is a part-time position (4 days a week) with a starting rate of $18/hour.

We are hiring for two distinct roles:

1. E-Commerce Cashier – Primary focus on fulfilling online orders, in addition to standard cashier duties.

2. Front-of-House Cashier – Ideal for someone with barista or food & beverage experience, along with traditional cashier responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers entering and exiting the store with warmth and professionalism

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with questions or concerns

• Fulfill e-commerce orders (for applicable role)

• Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately

• Maintain cleanliness of work and customer-facing areas

• Support merchandising efforts and floor organization

• Provide feedback to management on inventory, losses, scanning errors, or operational concerns

• Adhere to all company policies, especially cash handling and safety protocols

• Participate in inventory counts and product monitoring as needed

Qualifications

• Prior cashier, customer service, or retail experience preferred

• Barista or food & beverage background is a plus (for FOH cashier)

• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency (particularly for merchandising tasks)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Must be 18 years or older

• Open availability is required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Effective time management skills

• Willingness to comply with all relevant local and state laws, including those regarding alcohol handling

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $18/hour

• Part-Time: 4 days per week
