Frozen Foods Assistant in Bucyrus, Ohio at Crawford County Council on Aging

DUTIES:

• Place specified number of prepackaged meals into delivery containers
• Document temperatures regularly
• Accurately deliver meals to clients and obtain any required signatures as needed
• Collect donations from specified clients
• Communicate with nutrition department any problems, observations, questions etc. regarding meals program or consumers
• Perform kitchen, packing and cleaning duties as needed
• Track frozen inventory
• Serve congregate meals at specified meal sites when necessary (Bucyrus/Galion)
• Sign route sheets returned by volunteer/paid drivers as requested
• Train new support staff assigned to the site as requested
• Assist all volunteers with delivery bags
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Nutrition Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Ohio Driver’s License
• Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance
• Familiarity with reading maps and operating GPS device/cell phone
• Proven record of working cooperatively with others, particularly elderly individuals
• A strong attendance record
• Willingness to work in challenging weather conditions
• Possess strong organizational skills and be able to work under deadlines
• Experience monitoring food temperatures
• High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift 30 pounds
• Maintain a clean and neat appearance and practice good hygiene
• Operate motor vehicle
• Communicate with agency via cell phone or 2-way radio
• Enter client’s homes and other potentially handicapped inaccessible buildings
