Overview

Develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. Acts as a supervisor to other Technical Writers. Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedures and details. Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods. Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Reviews published materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of work and revisions. Edits material prepared by other writers or plant personnel. May specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Revise, redline, and write technical reports, manuals, publications, and drawings.
  • Maintain version control of technical reports, manuals, publications, and drawings.
  • Develop and update training curriculum to incorporate modernized replacements of obsolete C5ISR systems
  • Develop and update training curriculum to support 3D Scanning, Mixed Reality, or advanced manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level degree in any field
  • 3 years' work-related experience in DoD technical writing/editing
  • Active Secret Clearance walking through the door. Preferred Top Secret eligibility.

Basic Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 yearly salary

The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
