Financial Assistance Specialist II- Collateral at Rockland Federal Credit – Canton, Massachusetts

Rockland Federal Credit Union (RFCU) is seeking a Financial Assistance Specialist II – Collateral. Reporting to the Financial Assistance Manager, this role supports the effective operation of the Financial Assistance department by managing advanced recovery activities, including repossessions and remarketing of vehicle collateral, in full compliance with regulatory requirements and Credit Union policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Manage delinquent vehicle-secured accounts through calls, emails, and skip tracing while maintaining accurate documentationConduct loan research and collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounts in line with service standardsProcess member payments via debit card, ACH, and internal transfers with accuracy and complianceOversee all phases of the repossession process, including notices, recovery, redemption, and dispositionEnsure all required legal notifications are completed accurately and in compliance with regulationsCoordinate with vendors, set expectations, and obtain timely updates on recovery effortsFile and manage VSI and physical damage claims, including ancillary rebate submissionsPartner with leasing companies on repossession-related claims and documentationEnsure proper handling of accounts impacted by bankruptcy or estate processesQualifications

4+ years of experience in first-party collections and collateral recoveryStrong knowledge of vehicle titling, lien documentation, and repossession processesWorking knowledge of FDCPA, bankruptcy, and state repossession regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)Credit Union experience preferredWork Schedule and Benefits

As a Collections Specialist II- Collateral, you will work a 40-hour full-time schedule Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday every 6-8 weeks.

If you're hired at Rockland Federal Credit Union, your final base pay will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
