Job Title
Director of Patient Access and Financial Clearance
Job Summary
This role plays a pivotal part in driving the organization’s financial health and sustainability through the development and execution of innovative, patient-centered strategies. The Director ensures that every patient interaction with the system is seamless, compassionate, and aligned with NH+C’s commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience. The Director will partner with senior leadership to shape policy, improve access to care, and ensure regulatory compliance, while enhancing operational performance and revenue integrity.
The Director leads the Admissions, Prior Authorization and Financial Clearance Departments, overseeing vital functions such as insurance verification, Pre-service/pre-registration, emergency and elective admissions screening prior authorization and financial counseling. This role oversees the self-pay screening and Medicaid Eligibility workflows.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The annual salary range for this position is $99,902.40—$141,044.80. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities

Oversight of pre-registration, registration, insurance verification and eligibility, financial counseling, price estimates, prior authorization, point of service collections and charity care screening.

Develop and implement financial access strategies that directly impact organizational revenue performance, bad debt reduction and patient satisfaction metrics.

Champion initiatives that prioritize a transparent, empathetic and supportive financial journey for all patients.

Establish and work collaboratively with vendor partners to ensure streamlined and efficient workflows as established and result in positive outcomes.

Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and service excellence.

Ensure accuracy and integrity in patient demographic data collection to ensure the ability to bill services timely.

Liaison between centralized Patient Access functions on the hospital side with clinic leadership.

Partner with other departments throughout NH+C to optimize front-end processes, minimize denials and drive revenue cycle efficiency.

Collaboration and support to Revenue Cycle on Access related issues.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or health administration or related field

5–10 years of healthcare experience in Patient Access, Financial Clearance or related experience with at least 3 years of Management experience

Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment
Schedule
-
80 hours per two-week pay period
-
Monday through Friday, with flexible hours based on departmental needs
