M-F 8:30am-5:00pm
Compensation: $23.55-$35.00
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles
Position Purpose:
Manages the development, implementation and coordination of an infrastructure that supports the administration of the Department of Medical Education.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as site-coordinator for all medical students, develops, implements, and oversees the curriculum in accordance with current LCME standards for undergraduate clerkships. Assists the Director of Medical Education in the development of affiliation agreements.
- Familiar with the ACGME and other graduate medical education requirements. Assists with and implements required hospital policies and procedures.
- Acts as liaison to physician educators, medical staff and administration, as well as institutional affiliates in carrying out the standards of medical education and residency programs.
- Plans and directs the continuing medical education programs in accordance with the objectives established by the Hospital and the Medical Staff that implements the requirements of the Illinois State Medical Society and other accrediting bodies.
- Assists the Director of Medical Education in developing and updating procedural standards and conducts biweekly orientation and educational programs for medical students, interns, and residents.
- Performs audits of all teaching activities which relate to medical education and assists the Director of Medical Education in ensuring the quality and the appropriateness of the educational curriculum for medical students, interns, and residents.
- Assists the Director of Medical Education in preparing planing, and developing a yearly budget for the Department of Undergraduate Medical Education which includes M.D. salaries.
General Job Requirements:
- Has the ability to coordinate and schedule medical students and residents.
- Has the ability to coordinate the medical education programs.
- Has experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of affiliated medical schools and residency programs.
- Has the ability to prepare reports and make group presentations.
Education
High School Diploma required
Bachelor's degree preferred
