Barricade and Traffic Operations Driver at Parking and Transportation Group- Las Vegas – Las Vegas, Nevada

Position Information

The Barricade and Traffic Operations Driver is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles to transport, load, unload, set up, and dismantle traffic control equipment at various job sites.

Position Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles (e.g., pickup trucks, flatbeds) to transport barricades, cones, signs, and other traffic control equipment to and from work sites in a safe manner.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring all equipment is securely fastened during transport.
• Set up and dismantle traffic control devices according to site-specific traffic control plans (TCP) and safety regulations.
• Operate traffic control equipment such as arrow boards, programmable changeable message boards, and light towers.
• Perform labor-intensive tasks related to equipment handling and job site setup in a fast pace and high-volume environment.
• Read and interpret maps, traffic control plans (TCP).
• Organize workload efficiently to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
• Resolve customer requests, questions, and complaints with integrity and poise, provide accurate information on procedures and/or policies.
• Keep the assigned area clean and secure.
• Work in concerts with all departments.
• Maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Attend meetings and/or training classes as directed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High school diploma, or the equivalent Preferred.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification Card Required.
• Traffic Control Technician Certification Preferred.
• Forklift Certified Preferred.

Qualifications:

• Nevada Driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing and road test.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Great problem-solving skills/mechanically inclined.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and information in English.
• Ability to use personal computer and hand-held applications.
• Ability to work flexible shifts/hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, at varying locations.
• Attention to detail.
• Must present a professional, friendly image and appearance.
• Must have reliable transportation and excellent attendance.

Physical Demands:

• Finger and hand dexterity with ability to work at shoulder height and overhead for extended periods.
• Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
• Noise levels are distracting or uncomfortable.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including extremes of hot or cold in addition to wet environments.
• Job requires the following motions: climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, repetitive lifting; up to 50 pounds, occasional lifting; up to 100 pounds, stretching, sitting, walking on uneven ground and stairs.
