About the Role
The Senior Animator is responsible for creating high-quality, production-ready animations that elevate gameplay, player experience, and visual storytelling. This role plays a key part in defining animation quality standards, improving production workflows, and ensuring animation assets integrate smoothly into the game pipeline.
What You’ll Do
• Create high-quality 2D and 3D animations from concept through final implementation in game engines.
• Partner closely with Game Designers, Artists, Software Engineers, and Sound Designers to deliver cohesive gameplay experiences.
• Own animation quality from prototype through final ship, ensuring polish, clarity, and strong player readability.
• Translate game design requirements into compelling animation solutions that support gameplay mechanics and player feedback.
• Develop character, FX, UI, and feature animations that reinforce game themes and player engagement.
• Identify opportunities to improve pipelines, tools, rigging approaches, and export workflows.
• Support integration of animation assets into game engines and troubleshoot implementation challenges.

• Animation quality consistently meets or exceeds studio visual standards.
• Animations clearly support gameplay communication, readability, and player excitement.
• Animation pipelines are efficient, documented, and scalable across multiple projects.
• Projects deliver with polished animation that contributes to strong player appeal and commercial success.
What You Bring
• Degree in Animation, Motion Design, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional animation experience in games or interactive media.
• Strong expertise in 2D animation tools such as After Effects and Spine.
• Working knowledge of 3D animation tools such as Blender, Maya or 3ds Max.
• Working knowledge Substance Painter or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of animation fundamentals including timing, weight, anticipation, exaggeration, and appeal.
• Experience creating polished character, FX, and UI animations.
• Strong rigging experience for both 2D and/or 3D characters.
• Ability to document and track animation flowcharts for software engineers.
• Technical mindset with experience optimizing assets for real-time environments.
• Excellent understanding of visual design principles including lighting, composition, color, and motion clarity.
• Experience working in agile or milestone-driven development environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive creative feedback.
• Ability to balance creative quality with production timelines.
• Proven ability to take ownership of animation features from concept to completion.
Nice to Haves
• Casino gaming or slot game animation experience.
• Experience helping scale animation teams or establishing pipelines.
• Experience working in fast-growing or newly established studios.
