About This Position
Position Overview
The Pool Building Assistant supports the construction, installation, and finishing of residential and commercial swimming pools. This role combines physical labor, jobsite coordination, and oversight responsibilities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and able to assist with both hands‑on tasks and basic project management duties.
This position is for affiliate company Hometown Pool + Irrigation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Construction & Labor Support
Assist with excavation, grading, and site preparation
Help install pool structures, plumbing lines, rebar, and equipment
Mix and transport materials (concrete, gravel, sand, etc.)
Operate basic construction tools and equipment (training provided)
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
2. Jobsite Management & Oversight
Support the lead builder or project manager with daily workflow
Monitor jobsite safety and ensure compliance with company standards
Track materials, tools, and equipment needed for each phase
Communicate progress, delays, or issues to supervisors
Coordinate with subcontractors or vendors when needed
3. Pool Construction Oversight
Assist in verifying measurements, layout, and structural alignment
Observe installation steps to ensure quality and accuracy
Help inspect plumbing, electrical, and equipment placement
Support final checks before plastering, filling, and startup
4. Work Environment
Outdoor, physical work in all weather conditions
Frequent lifting (50+ lbs), bending, digging, and standing for long periods
Work hours may shift due to weather or project timelines
Some weekend work required during peak season
5. Qualifications
Prior construction, landscaping, or outdoor labor experience preferred
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
Strong work ethic and reliability
Basic mechanical or tool‑handling skills
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
Willingness to learn pool construction processes and equipment
