DESCRIPTION
The Pressure Vessel Fitter performs the layout, fit, and fabrication of metal components to assemble tanks and vessels to be manufactured using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fitter Level 1:
- Recognizes bid-level time to produce.
- Sets up and adjusts welding equipment.
- Performs basic welding jobs.
- Performs simple fitting jobs.
- Performs basic layout jobs.
- Examines products or work to verify conformance to specification.
- Removes rough spots from work piece using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
- Provides assistance to Fitter II and Fitter III positions as needed.
- Performs general housekeeping activities.
- Follow all safety precautions including wearing the required personal protective clothing and equipment.
- Performs other work related to fitting/welding processes when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Fitter Level 2:
Performs Level 1 activities, plus:
- Assists with construction of templates and other work aids for welding projects.
- Attaches or marks identification onto products.
- Performs work to ASME standards.
Fitter Level 3:
Performs Level 1 and 2 activities, plus:
- Performs work without supervision
- Provides leadership to Fitter I and Fitter II positions
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and write English, follow simple instructions, comprehend, and perform basic arithmetic computations, recognize, and solve problems, and concentrate on detailed work.
- Entry-level understanding of the gas welding trade and techniques or a willingness to learn.
- Entry-level understanding of layout techniques or a willingness to learn.
- Entry-level understanding of welding safety practices or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools or equipment.
- Ability and willingness to attend welding, layout and blueprint classes and complete the requisite coursework leading to ASME welding certification.
- Must pass AqueoUS Vets, LLC.’s 3G-weld test plate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, make frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms to reach and feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. A normal sense of smell is required. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, accurate perception of color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience and zero to 90 days of experience in the welding trade.

1st Shift Schedule:
6:00am - 4:45pm (M-TH) 6:00am - 2:45pm (Friday)
Overtime is available
Saturday: 6:00am - 12:00pm
2nd Shift Schedule:
4:30pm - 3:15am (M-TH) 2:30pm - 11:15pm (Friday)
Overtime is available
Saturday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
