We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and help shape the future of our growing Voice Insights product, our analytics platform that transforms voice interactions into actionable intelligence. You will define the technical strategy, design, build, and optimize systems that turn billions of real-world conversations into insights that drive intelligence into business processes and conversational agents. Workplace & CompensationThis role is available throughout Canada. Employees within a 100-kilometer radius of our Toronto office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled “core days” each month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration.
Compensation includes salary, equity, comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits. Our recruiting team will provide a specific salary range based on location and years of experience.

What You'll Do
- Set the Voice Insights technical vision and direction, tackling complex, open-ended technical challenges across data, AI, and analytics.
- Act as a player / coach, driving architectural decisions while ensuring engineering excellence across the team.
- Balance customer needs with technical design to deliver high-impact, scalable value quickly.
- Apply advanced artificial intelligence techniques to process speech data, derive deep insights, and enable automated actions.
- Design and build highly scalable data pipelines and event-driven architectures to reliably process millions of voice AI interactions.
- Collaborate closely with product and platform teams to align technical roadmaps and build world-class systems.
- Identify and eliminate sources of toil and inefficiency in systems and processes, promoting operational maturity.
- Continuously improve customer onboarding, data reliability, and operational excellence.
What You'll Bring
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in a technical leadership role driving architecture and strategy, ideally in distributed or data-intensive systems.
- Expert experience designing and implementing highly performant data pipelines and resilient event-driven architectures.
- Expert experience with cloud warehouse technologies like Google Big Query, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake.
- Strong Experience with Python, Google Pub/Sub and Reporting Tools.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering, including prompt design, evaluation, and deployment workflows for production systems.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate technical quality and practices across multiple teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and making high-stakes technical trade-offs.
- Proven experience collaborating with customers or stakeholders to translate complex technical insights into measurable business impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a people manager or formal team lead.
- Familiarity with voice-enabled or conversational AI systems.
- Experience designing APIs for high-throughput applications.
- Understanding of cloud platforms and large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience using LLMs to accelerate development or extract meaning from data.
