Lake Wildwood is an active, gated community located about one hour northeast of Sacramento in the historic Gold Rush foothills of Nevada County.


About the role

Job Summary:

The Security Operations Manager will oversees, directs, and maintains a security force sufficient to assisting within the reasonable limits, in safeguarding, reducing, or preventing injury and/or property loss to the Association and others. Lead a team of security personnel to ensure enforcement of the Governing Documents of the Association and control access into Lake Wildwood.

Pay Range: $75,000 to $80,000 Annually

What you'll do

Job Objectives:

Implement, lead and manage a robust team of security personnel, including hiring, training and performance management.

• Conduct regular security assessments and inspections to identify gaps and areas for improvement.

• Maintain and update emergency response plans, ensuring all security employees know their roles and responsibilities.

Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.

• Foster a culture of security awareness, accountability, ethical conduct and customer service for entire security team.

Essential Duties AND Responsibilities include the following:

Security & Safety Oversight

• Employs, evaluates and terminates all personnel as required within the Security Department with the approval of the Director of Community Safety and Risk.

• Maintains performance records and conducts periodic evaluations on Security personnel.

• Assures conformance with Governing Documents and Emergency Plan.

• Ensures that scheduling, payroll records (including timecards), vacation and sick leave within the Security Department are accurately maintained and reported.

• Arranges and creates specialized training programs, under direction of the Director of Community Safety & Risk, to upgrade skills and performance of Security personnel.

• Maintain an inventory of equipment used by the Department, arranges for periodic maintenance to assure satisfactory operating capability of Security equipment such as patrol vehicle, communication equipment, patrol boat, first aid & CPR. equipment, etc.

• Make recommendations to management regarding equipment replacement, acquisition or disposition.

• Inspects, reports, recommends and arranges for maintenance of Security facilities such as gates and gate houses, or other facilities necessary to the function of the Security Department.

• Maintain knowledge of California Penal Code, Vehicle Code, and other related laws.

Emergency Management

• The Manager of Security Operations shall be responsible for assuming full authority over all Association employees, in the absence of the Director of Community Safety and Risk or General Manager, in situations arising within Lake Wildwood Association boundaries which, in his estimation, constitute an immediate threat to life or property within such boundaries. They shall direct such actions as he deems necessary to alleviate such situations as quickly as possible. They shall report any emergency situations and his subsequent action to the General Manager as soon as practically possible thereafter.

• Maintains an up-to-date Emergency Plan and a trained volunteer force consisting of LWA members for plan implementation in the event of an actual emergency or drill.

• Lead response coordination during critical incidents and emergencies.

• Oversee training, drills, and community preparedness initiatives.

• Collaborate across departments to embed risk awareness into daily operations.

• Serve as liaison to law enforcement, fire, and external agencies.

Accountability

• Overall risk posture and safety effectiveness of the Association

• Protection of Association assets, infrastructure, and reputation

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Education and 3 years’ experience commensurate with above duties

• Experience in security, risk, or fraud prevention

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Must possess or obtain and keep a current California Guard Card

• Preferred: Law enforcement background.

• Preferred: Completion of a POST basic police academy.
