Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to build and deploy advanced machine learning and GenAI solutions that directly improve clinical trial processes and patient access to care. You will work on high-impact problems at the intersection of healthcare, data science, and large-scale machine learning systems. The position involves designing intelligent models that enhance trial design, accelerate patient recruitment, and optimize operational efficiency across clinical research workflows. You will contribute to both strategic architecture decisions and hands-on development in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment. Working closely with cross-functional experts, you will help translate complex healthcare data into scalable, production-ready ML systems. This is a highly impactful role where your work will contribute to improving access to potentially life-saving treatments.
- Lead the design, development, training, and deployment of scalable machine learning and GenAI/LLM models supporting clinical trial optimization and patient engagement.
- Build and maintain production-grade ML pipelines, ensuring reliability, performance, and seamless integration into operational systems.
- Develop and refine GenAI-driven solutions to automate and enhance clinical trial workflows, including data processing and real-time monitoring.
- Collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders to align ML solutions with business and healthcare objectives.
- Optimize model performance and infrastructure, implementing monitoring systems and continuous improvement frameworks for production environments.
- Contribute to technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and establishing best practices in ML development and deployment.
- Communicate technical insights and model outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or applied data science, ideally within healthcare, life sciences, or similarly complex domains.
- Strong hands-on experience building, fine-tuning, and deploying ML models, including GenAI and LLM-based systems.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in modern ML frameworks and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining production ML pipelines, including deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across ambiguous and complex technical challenges.
- Experience working in fast-paced, startup or high-growth environments is highly valued.
- Preferred: experience with clinical trial data, oncology datasets, or healthcare-specific ML applications.
- Preferred: familiarity with LLM frameworks, open-source AI tools, and GenAI deployment strategies.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary aligned with experience and market standards.
- Equity participation as part of the long-term incentive package.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Mental health support for employees and their families.
- Unlimited paid time off and generous parental leave policy.
- Flexible remote and hybrid work options.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
- Company-paid life and disability insurance coverage.
