Commercial Plumbing Service Division Manager

Build and Lead a New Plumbing Service Department for Ready Plumbing & Fire Protection!

Job Overview

Company: Ready Plumbing & Fire Protection

Salary/Pay Rate: $90,000 - 100,000+ per year, based on experience. Final package may vary based on leadership background, service department experience, and growth plan fit.

Location: Longwood, FL

Job/Employment Type: Full Time

Department Scope: Plumbing Service / Commercial Plumbing / Service Division Buildout

Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None required

The Opportunity

You will serve as the founding leader of a new plumbing service division within Ready Plumbing & Fire Protection, an established Central Florida commercial plumbing and fire protection contractor. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced commercial plumbing service manager to step into a stable, well-backed company and build a department from the ground up.

This is not a routine service manager role. You will be responsible for creating the structure, systems, team, routes, tools, inventory setup, customer workflow, and operational foundation needed to launch and scale a profitable plumbing service division. The company already has commercial clients requesting service work; now they need the right leader to turn that demand into a fully functioning department.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Build a dedicated plumbing service department from the ground up within an established commercial plumbing and fire protection company.
  • Develop the operational roadmap for launching service work, including trucks, tools, inventory, staffing, scheduling, dispatch, customer communication, SOPs, and KPIs.
  • Assess existing client demand and create a practical service model for recurring commercial plumbing repair, maintenance, and response work.
  • Recommend the staffing plan needed to support the department, including service technicians, support roles, on-call coverage, and future growth needs.
  • Establish service routes, customer management processes, and workflow standards to ensure reliable, high-quality service delivery.
  • Help evaluate and implement the software, systems, and reporting tools needed to manage service operations effectively.
  • Partner with ownership to define pricing, service expectations, department milestones, and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Build a strong service culture rooted in accountability, technical quality, professionalism, and customer responsiveness.
  • Support future expansion opportunities, which may include broader MEP service capabilities over time.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience working within a plumbing service operation, ideally in a leadership, management, or department-building capacity.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing service work, including common service issues, parts, materials, tools, field workflow, and customer expectations.
  • Experience managing or helping build service routes, dispatch processes, technician schedules, customer communication, and service documentation.
  • Ability to design operational systems from scratch rather than simply maintain an existing department.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire, train, organize, and manage service technicians and support staff.
  • Practical knowledge of service trucks, inventory/bin setup, tools, equipment, and field readiness requirements.
  • Ability to create SOPs, performance metrics, service standards, and scalable processes.
  • Strong customer management skills, especially with commercial clients and repeat-service relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ownership of a new division and turn a vision into a functioning business unit.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience launching, scaling, or significantly improving a plumbing service department.
  • Background with commercial plumbing service, facilities service, or mixed commercial/residential service environments.
  • Familiarity with service management software, dispatch platforms, CRM tools, or field-service operating systems.
  • Experience creating 24-hour or emergency service coverage models.
  • Knowledge of backflow prevention, fire protection, or broader MEP service environments.
  • Experience developing technician training plans, service KPIs, route efficiency models, and customer retention strategies.
  • Existing knowledge of the Central Florida service market, including Orange, Seminole, Lake, Osceola, Volusia, or Brevard County.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary starting at $100,000+ per year, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Growth-oriented leadership opportunity with meaningful autonomy and long-term upside.
  • Opportunity to build and shape a new department within an established company.
  • Stable company infrastructure, existing customer relationships, and ownership support.
  • Additional benefits, vehicle program, bonus structure, and equipment package to be confirmed with the employer.
