Job Description

About Skilled US
Skilled US is a nonprofit workforce development organization preparing adults and young people for family-sustaining careers through scholarships and tuition-free training in healthcare, IT, construction, manufacturing, logistics, and more. We pair instruction with wraparound supports and work-based learning to move learners from enrollment to employment and long-term retention.

Position Summary

The Intake & Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for converting qualified leads into enrolled participants across Skilled US training pathways.

This role is the engine that turns recruitment into enrollment. Recruitment teams generate the leads—this role owns what happens next. You will engage prospective participants, assess their goals and readiness, and quickly and effectively direct them to the right training program.

This is a high-performance, high-accountability role. Success is measured by conversion rates, enrollment volume, and pipeline movement. You must be able to build rapport quickly, assess fit, overcome hesitation, and move individuals from interest to action.

A strong understanding of partner programs, as well as SNAP E&T, WIOA, and other funding models, is critical to ensuring participants are placed into programs they both qualify for and are likely to complete.

Core Responsibilities

Lead Conversion & Intake

  • Own the conversion of inbound leads into enrolled participants
  • Conduct intake conversations that assess:
    • Career goals and interests
    • Readiness and motivation
    • Barriers to participation

● Move participants efficiently from interest to enrollment with minimal drop-off

● Follow up persistently to maintain momentum and close enrollment

Program Matching & Enrollment

  • Match participants to the right program, not just any program
  • Maintain deep knowledge of:
    • Community college programs
    • Training providers
    • Program requirements and timelines
  • Guide participants through application and enrollment processes
  • Ensure participants are fully enrolled and confirmed in programs

Pipeline Management

  • Manage a high-volume pipeline of prospective participants
  • Track each lead from intake → enrollment → confirmation
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks that slow down conversion
  • Maintain consistent communication to keep participants engaged

Funding Alignment (SNAP E&T / WIOA)

  • Identify participant eligibility for SNAP E&T, WIOA, and other funding streams
  • Understand Skilled US funding models and adapt enrollment strategy accordingly
  • Ensure participants are aligned with programs they qualify for financially and programmatically

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with recruitment teams to improve lead quality
  • Coordinate with coaching and partnership teams to ensure smooth handoffs
  • Provide real-time feedback on program demand, participant trends, and barriers

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years in admissions, enrollment, workforce development, or sales-like roles
  • Proven ability to convert leads into outcomes
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with SNAP E&T, WIOA, or similar programs preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adult education, workforce development, or community-based training programs.
  • Experience supporting events, enrollment activities, or intake processes.
  • Familiarity with participant-centered or trauma-informed service environments.
  • Bilingual (preferred but not required).

Competencies for Success

  • Professional presence and strong front-line communication
  • Fast-paced multitasking and execution under pressure
  • Follow-through, dependability, and an ownership mindset
  • Strong teamwork and ability to support multiple managers
  • Consistent accuracy in data, communication, and logistics
  • Positive attitude and “do what it takes” service orientation

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Hybrid, role-based is remote with daily communication and interaction.
  • Schedule may include occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events, depending on recruitment and program

Our Commitment
We are here to lift up individuals who are ready to work but have been shut out of opportunity. Our goal is not only to prepare them, but to place them. If you are passionate about workforce equity and driven by results, we want you on our team.
