About the Organization
Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We’re looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.
About the Role
Redhorse transforms how the government uses data and technology. We are seeking a dedicated Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Engineer to join our team and contribute to the forefront of AI and deep learning within the Department of War (DoW). Working closely with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO), you will design, build, and integrate AI/ML solutions focused on autonomous warfare, making a significant impact on national security.
- AI/ML Development: Support the implementation of CDAO’s Algorithmic Warfare (AW) AI scaffolding project, including developing a process/structure for DoW teams to develop and test their own AI/ML models. Develop and maintain scalable and robust AI/ML systems compliant with government cybersecurity policies. Stay current with the latest AI/ML research and technologies, assessing their potential application in government projects.
- Autonomous Warfare: Support the development and integration of AI/ML solutions with existing government IT infrastructure and systems, focusing on improving autonomous warfare capabilities.
- Collaboration: Contribute to cross-functional team efforts on CDAO’s large language model task force. Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality product delivery. Communicate complex AI/ML concepts and results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Architecture and Design: Prepare technical documentation, including system design, development reports, and user manuals.
- Standards Compliance: Develop and maintain scalable and robust AI/ML systems compliant with government cybersecurity policies. Apply National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines for DoW information assurance, including NIST 800-37 and NIST 800-53.
- US citizenship with an active Department of Defense (DoW) Top Secret (TS) security clearance and current access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) (TS/SCI) is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8 years of related experience, or a combination of advanced degree/experience.
- Experience in system development/configuration, integration, and support efforts. Knowledge and execution with DoW systems is highly desired.
- Experience in autonomous warfare development.
- Extensive knowledge of Cloud architecture, application, and integration (e.g., DataBricks, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven experience with software development (in languages such as Python) and/or development of artificial intelligence/machine learning software.
- Experience with large language models (LLMs) and natural language processing (NLP).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
