POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and service-driven Assistant Floor Manager to support the daily front-of-house operations within a fast-paced, private club environment. This role is instrumental in delivering exceptional member and guest experiences while supporting leadership in executing service standards, training Associates, and maintaining a seamless dining operation.
The Assistant Floor Manager serves as a visible presence on the floor, ensuring service excellence, supporting team performance, and stepping into leadership responsibilities as needed. This position is designed as a growth opportunity for emerging leaders in Food & Beverage.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Assistant Floor Manager maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times and leads by example through active floor engagement. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, Chef De Cuisine, Executive Chef, and front-of-house team, this role supports service execution, Associate development, and operational consistency.
You will play a key role in ensuring that service standards are upheld, member needs are anticipated, and daily operations run smoothly. This position requires a hands-on approach, with the ability to pivot between leadership and service responsibilities throughout each shift.
CORE RESPONSBILITIES
FLOOR LEADERSHIP & SERVICE EXECUTION
- Actively circulate the dining room and bar areas to ensure exceptional service standards are consistently delivered
- Serve as a primary point of contact for member and guest needs, resolving concerns promptly and professionally
- Lead by example through hands-on service support, including serving, running food, bussing, and assisting with seating as needed
- Monitor pace of service, table turns, and overall flow of the dining experience
TEAM SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT
- Support the Restaurant Manager in supervising, coaching, and motivating front-of-house Associates
- Assist with onboarding and training of new hires, reinforcing service standards and club expectations
- Participate in and occasionally lead pre-shift meetings, ensuring clear communication of daily priorities
- Provide real-time feedback to Associates to drive performance and consistency
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards across all dining and bar areas
- Support inventory management, including monitoring par levels, restocking supplies, and communicating needs to leadership
- Ensure proper setup and breakdown of service areas in alignment with club standards
- Follow and enforce all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
ADMINISTRATIVE & SUPPORT FUNCTIONS
- Assist with scheduling support and shift coverage coordination as directed by the Restaurant Manager
- Support basic reporting needs, including shift notes, service feedback, and operational observations
- Communicate member feedback and operational opportunities to leadership in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of Food & Beverage experience, preferably in a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club environment
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-first mindset
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Working knowledge of POS systems and basic Microsoft Office tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
- Team-oriented with a proactive and positive approach
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires walking and standing for the majority of the working day. Must be able to stand and maintain well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, grasping, writing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, and climbing as needed to fulfill job tasks.
