Role Overview
The Fund Development Specialist supports fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, sponsorships, and community outreach while helping communicate Consejo’s mission and goals. This role works with agency leadership, funders, donors, and community partners, assists with events and communications, and supports Federal, State, County, and City funding efforts. Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and travel is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Fund Development:
Support annual fundraising and resource development plans.
Track fundraising goals and prepare reports.
Research funding and donor opportunities.
Grant Administration:
Assist with grant research, writing, and reporting.
Maintain grant deadlines and documentation.
Support compliance and funding applications.
Donor Relations:
Support donor outreach and engagement efforts.
Maintain donor records and communications.
Assist with acknowledgments and marketing materials.
Events & Outreach:
Help coordinate fundraising and public events.
Support event logistics, volunteers, and sponsorships.
Assist with outreach, social media, and public communications.
Professional Responsibilities:
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Support community and stakeholder relationships.
Perform additional duties as assigned and maintain scheduling flexibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Creative Writing, or related field preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (bilingual English/Spanish preferred)
Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred.
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and follow funder guidelines.
Ability to understand organizational programs and funding requirements.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
Experience with marketing and social media platforms.
Ability to use various technology tools, including Microsoft 365, databases, and EHR systems.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Ability to maintain professional relationships with with government funders, donors, and community stakeholders.
Access to reliable transportation; valid Washington State driver’s license and insurance required.
SALARY
$70,000 - $80,000 annual salary. Pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and credentials.
