We specialize in advanced assembly methods including clinching, riveting, and welding. Our Welding & Joining Engineers play a critical role in bridging design and production—applying expertise in metallurgy, materials science, and mechanical engineering to develop safe, efficient, and reliable joining processes.
As a Welding & Joining Engineer, you will be a creative problem solver who develops and implements clinching and self-piercing rivet (SPR) technologies to meet customer and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clinching and self-piercing rivet (SPR) technologies and engineering solutions for joining modern lightweight structures.
- Collaborate closely with customers and internal engineering teams to meet application and production requirements.
- Influence the full sales and development cycle—from concept design through production launch.
- Lead technical innovation initiatives, supporting advancements and implementing best practices derived from lessons learned.
- Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and standardization initiatives.
- Project management to manage project timelines to meet customer needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and weldability of metals and alloys.
- Strong ability to communicate to customer process information
- Proficiency with problem solving to resolve production issues in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
Experience
- 3–5 years of engineering experience in the automotive or mass-production manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments, preferably with automated systems.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors and strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
Work Environment
This role involves a combination of office, laboratory, and production-floor work. Strict adherence to safety practices and PPE requirements is mandatory.
