Job Description

Purpose of Position:
The Campground Specialist assists with daily operations, customer service and performs routine park
maintenance tasks and enforces department policy and procedures at assigned Clark County Forestry and Parks
campground facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position, and this list is not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may
be required and assigned.
  • Assist with the operation of campground store and office.
  • Assist with collection of camping and recreation fees, issuing receipts, maintaining financial and operational records and deposits of campground and park revenues in accordance with department procedures.
  • Accurately disseminate program information and prices in response to telephone and in-person inquiries.
  • Operate light equipment such as trucks, UTV, riding lawn mower, push lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower etc. Use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, hoe, and axes to conduct basic landscaping duties.
  • Check and maintain park grounds and structures for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and state of repair.
  • Remove ash from campsite fire pits and transport them to ash bunkers.
  • Use common cleaning supplies to maintain cleanliness in facilities located inside the campground.
  • Respond to customer requests and complaints.
  • Maintain friendly disposition toward public.
  • Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance at all times while on duty.
  • Assist manager with maintaining order and enforcement of county ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Promptly report all unlawful behavior, vandalism, and hazardous conditions to the Forestry and Parks Department and the Law Enforcement Department.
  • Assist with Forestry and Parks operations as assigned

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
This position requires knowledge usually acquired in high school. One to three years of experience in
campground operation, customer service, hospitality, park maintenance or cashiering is required. An equivalent
combination of education and experience will also be considered

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to ask questions when needed.
