The Project Engineer is responsible for the implementation and integration of Indmar products at the OE customer level. With a strong foundation in electrical engineering, this role serves as a technical resource across multiple engineering disciplines — including mechanical and electrical systems — to drive innovation and continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle. Must have positive/friendly attitude and ability to work with and support the team.
Requirements: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage day-to-day project requirements of product marinization and integration.
- Responsible for reporting form, fit, and function of parts to design engineering team.
- Coordinate the design, testing, and transfer to production of new product following Indmar ISO Gate Process
- Assist Quality and or Customer Service Group with service warranty problems.
- Maintain project timelines and boat builder target dates. Including but not limited to: Manage projects as assigned. Develop timing chart. Report progress on weekly basis in report and or project status meetings.
- Engine testing and reporting – Knowledge of CFR 1045 & 1065
- Travel required 10-20% of time
- Continue support of in-progress projects through start of production
- Create electronic service/installation documentation of electrical system
- Evaluate legacy systems for improvements
- Provide support and assistance to service technicians as needed
- Research and develop new systems and components as needed
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of all main line software, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or equivalent and SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of the following regulations: USCG, EPA, CARB CE Foreign Regulations,
- Knowledge of the following standards: ABYC, ISO, ANSI/NIT Engineering Standards.
- Understanding of SAE 1939 and NMEA 2000 protocol.
- Proficiency in reading and developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit designs
- Must be mechanically inclined and have a working knowledge of mechanics tools.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and convey technical information
- Troubleshooting and repair of basic DC electrical automotive systems
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience; Electrical engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum (5) years of direct engine experience in a manufacturing or a related environment.
- C++ programming experience a plus
