Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President, Strategic HR Business Partner, serves as a senior HR leader responsible for both the strategic and operational delivery of Human Resources services across the corporate services division, which includes but is not limited to enterprise service lines and a total workforce of 6,000+ employees,
This individual leads in a dual role: managing day-to-day HR operations and serving as a core member enterprise-wide teams responsible for shaping system initiatives advancing the employee experience,
The AVP is a trusted advisor to senior leadership, a driver of organizational performance, a strategic thought partner driving HR excellence and a champion of culture, values, and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required; master s degree strongly preferred,
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including direct responsibility for HR operations in a large, matrixed and complex organization,
- Proven success as a senior HR Business Partner or equivalent role collaborating with senior executives and having enterprise-wide impact,
- Demonstrated and strong experience leading and developing a large team of HR professionals,
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices,
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem solving, attention to detail and change management skills,
- Ability to influence and build credibility at all levels of the organization,
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with HR, executive and operational leaders to align HR strategy with organizational goals, ensuring the workforce is prepared to meet current and future business needs,
- Serve as a member of cross-functional teams co-designing and executing system-wide initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, recognition, culture, succession planning, leadership development, and workforce experience,
- Support executive HR leadership in translating organizational vision, mission, and values into HR strategies strengthening culture, accountability, and performance.
Operational HR Oversight
- Direct HR operations for a workforce of 6,000+ employees, ensuring consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements/laws,
- Lead and mentor a direct team of 12 HR employees of varying professional levels to deliver high-impact, value-added HR support across all levels of the organization,
- Utilize data and analytics to track performance, measure impact and to inform strategic decision making,
- Oversee employee relations, workforce planning, policy interpretation, performance management, employee engagement, and other core HR functions for assigned client groups,
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of HR operational issues, balancing organizational risk with fairness and employee advocacy,
Enterprise Initiatives & Employee Experience
- Collaborate with COE peers to design and implement innovative, enterprise-wide programs enhancing the employee experience, retention, and engagement,
- Lead initiatives modernizing HR practices and embed best-in-class approaches to the employee experience,
- Act as a change leader, managing communication, adoption, and measurement of system-wide HR strategies,
Leadership & People Development
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development for HRBPs and team members, cultivating a high-performing and collaborative corporate HR function,
- Model the organization s values of accountability, compassion, empathy, kindness, respect, excellence, curiosity and teamwork in all interactions,
- Build cross-functional partnerships with business leaders and key internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless HR delivery and integration,
