Job Description
The Deputy Director will assist in the management and business operations of center based child care programs and family child care systems within Catholic Charities. The Deputy Director will work closely with the Divisional Director to ensure the fiscal soundness and overall management of the childcare division. The Deputy Director will assume authority in the absence of the Divisional Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participate in interviewing, hiring and onboarding for childcare employees when needed.Follow agency and program policies and procedures and ensure each program is adhering to regulations as established by EEC and Catholic Charities.Conduct on-going program evaluation with program directors to ensure targeted enrollment figures, contract utilization, and contract compliance.Assure that programs and sites have community connections through membership on local councils, boards, early childhood events, local public schools, community fairs and local political liaisons.Identify leadership and direct care staff development needs and facilitate necessary training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for the child care division.Support program directors with employee relation matters as needed.Participate in developing performance plans as needed for the child care division which may include working with the program director and human resources for termination decisions. Approve requests for time off in accordance with program needs and approve employee timesheets. Utilize all social services within Catholic Charities to create comprehensive services to clients while expanding a client base throughout the agency.Liaison with the marketing team to promote the marketing effort for all programs. Assist Divisional Director in monitoring food program, licensing, and state contracts for compliance.Conduct monthly supervision with childcare directors with appropriate documentation of supervision.Participate in the performance evaluation process to ensure that each employee is reviewed annually. Serve as a representative of Catholic Charities on local and state issues effecting the needs, issues, and services for the communities we serve.Participate in the annual budget process.Work is performed in child care classrooms and office environment with travel to building locations. Use of general office equipment including phones and computers. May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Some lifting up to 15 lbs. required.Promote a positive, caring climate for employees.Attend agency trainings and meetings. Attend Divisional Director meetings and trainings; assist Divisional Director in creating the monthly agenda.Local travel to perform and meet the expectations of the position.Other responsibilities as required.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in education, Master’s preferred.A minimum of eight years of prior experience working with children in a child care program. A minimum of four years of prior experience supervising others.Proven knowledge of EEC guidelines, including QRIS,UPK, and NAEYC Accreditation, and CACFP.Willingness and ability to work with a diverse population.Strong observation, communication and organizational skills.Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to work with frequent interruptions.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications include virtual platforms.A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for local travel .Punctual attendance.Ability to work evening or weekend hours as needed.Our benefits are competitive and include a 403(b) savings plan and generous time off (benefits may vary based on position and scheduled hours).

The base pay range reflects what Catholic Charities reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation in this range may be determined based on other factors, including but not limited to work experience, education and specialty training.
