About This Position
The OT/PT Technician is an entry level position. The OT/PT Technician participates in the preparatory aspects of care including transfers, transporting patients, equipment set up and the assistive aspects of care which help the occupational/physical therapists/speech therapist deliver quality occupational/physical therapy care. The OT/PT Technician assists the department in direct care and transport of patients as well as organization and cleaning of equipment, maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and maintaining the department in a clean, safe and orderly state. The OT/PT technician contributes to the provision of therapeutic treatment by promoting infection control and providing clerical and other related support service as necessary. This position is under the supervision of the treating therapist during patient care and ultimately reports to the Supervisor of Occupational, Physical Therapy, or Speech Therapy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum education/training: Completion of a CNA training course (or recognized equivalent) and current valid state certification OR completion of hospital patient care course and/or therapy specific competencies within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum education/training: High school graduate or equivalent. Training is on-the-job.
- Minimum work experience: patient care experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Competency in basic computer skills and office equipment operation are required.
