JOB SUMMARY:
As a Clinical Assistant, you will serve as a vital link between our patients and healthcare providers. Under the direct supervision of a physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will perform a variety of clinical responsibilities to ensure the seamless examination and treatment of patients. We are looking for a proactive, collaborative professional who is committed to high-quality care, fiscal responsibility, and exceptional customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support & Patient Care

Patient Intake: Obtain and document vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, pulse oximetry, height, weight, and the primary reason for the visit.

Exam Preparation: Prepare patients for visits or procedures, ensuring they are appropriately gowned and comfortable.

Provider Assistance: Assist physicians and APPs during exams and procedures; serve as a chaperone for personal exams as needed.

Point-of-Care (POC) Testing: Upon completion of required competencies, perform EKG, blood glucose, hemoccult, and specific gravity testing.

Lab Coordination: Collect and label specimens (urine dipsticks, cultures, pregnancy tests, etc.) and perform accurate data entry of results into the patient’s electronic health record.
Operations & Quality Improvement

Quality Measures: Assist in achieving health outcomes for value-based programs by closing "quality of care" gaps and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.

Resource Management: Maintain adequately stocked and unexpired supplies in patient care areas; notify supervisors when reorder points are reached.

Patient Experience: Keep patients informed of appointment status if delays occur and assist with rescheduling or follow-up coordination when necessary.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of HIPAA standards regarding patient confidentiality. Participate in practice meetings to improve safety and innovation.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
