Job Description

Data Scientist

Are you looking for a new challenge?
Fancy helping us shape the future of motor insurance?
Prima could be the place for you.

Since 2015, weve been using our love of data and tech to rethink motor insurance and bring drivers a great experience at a great price. Our story began in Italy, where weve quickly become the number one online motor insurance provider. In fact, were trusted by over 5 million drivers. And now were expanding to help millions more drivers in the UK and Spain.

To help fuel that growth, we need a Data Scientist to join our Spanish Pricing & Underwriting team, that is the strategic engine behind Prima's growth.

As part of this team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our strategy and strengthening our competitive edge. Using data, analytical thinking, machine learning and business acumen, you’ll help predict the future and set the right prices, keeping our offering both attractive and sustainable. You’ll work with your data science tools and skills to bring real-world impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn insights into action and fuel innovation across the company.

Excited to make an impact? Here are the detailsWhat you'll do
  • Leverage Machine Learning and advanced data analytics to identify risks and set the right price for each client;
  • Analyze and interpret complex data to support strategic decision-making, as Pricing & Underwriting Data Science is responsible for the methodologies used and their impact on the business;

  • Contribute directly to the company’s growth and long-term success through actionable insights.

What we're looking for
  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Mathematical Engineering, Physical Engineering, Data Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering or Statistics;

  • From graduate level up to 2 years’ experience as a Data Scientist or in similar roles.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written;

  • Excellent quantitative, logical, and analytical skills;

  • Curiosity, proactivity, and innovative thinking to drive new ideas and solutions, recognizing that the “why” behind an action matters as much as the “what”.

Nice-to-have
  • Proficiency in programming, particularly with Python, and experienced in data querying and analysis, particularly with SQL;

  • Possess a solid foundation in machine learning;

  • Know how to create, manipulate and analyze large datasets.
