Chief Anesthesiologist at St. Claire Regional Medical Center – Morehead, Kentucky

UK St. Claire is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Chief Anesthesiologist to lead anesthesia services in a growing regional medical center serving Eastern Kentucky. This is a pivotal leadership role within a physician-directed anesthesia model during a period of strategic growth and modernization. The hospital is expanding surgical services and developing new service lines—including spine, vascular, orthopedics, ENT, general surgery, OB anesthesia, acute pain, and regional anesthesia—creating a significant opportunity for departmental leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct anesthesia care for surgical, procedural, and obstetric cases
• Lead clinical operations, staffing, and scheduling for anesthesia services
• Supervise CRNAs and anesthesiologists within a physician-led model
• Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and ASA standards
• Lead QI, patient safety, and OR performance initiatives
• Guide development of expanding surgical and anesthesia service lines
• Participate in medical staff leadership and hospital committees

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification in Anesthesiology (Required)
• Minimum of 7 years post-residency experience (Required)
• Kentucky medical license or eligibility
• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership or departmental oversight
