Key Responsibilities
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Pulmonary & Sleep Lab practice. This role is cross-trained in both front-office and back-office responsibilities and plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical / Back Office Duties:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists
- Assist providers with pulmonary and sleep-related exams and procedures
- Perform EKGs, spirometry, pulse oximetry, and other diagnostic testing as trained
- Prepare patients for sleep studies and provide patient education as needed
- Administer injections and medications per provider orders (within scope)
- Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and follow infection control protocols
- Accurately document clinical information in the EMR
Front Office Duties:
- Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Collect copays and assist with patient registration and forms
- Answer incoming calls and route messages appropriately
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in pulmonary, sleep medicine, or specialty practice preferred (not required)
- CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within designated timeframe
- Strong clinical and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of EMR systems and basic office equipment
