Role Summary: The Social Media Manager supports Calvary Church’s mission by executing day-to-day social media content across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and collaborating on social media strategy. This role helps engage the community, highlight church ministries and events, and share the message of Jesus Christ through thoughtful, well-planned digital content.
Working closely with the Communications Director and Creative Arts Director, this position contributes ideas, manages content workflows, and brings the shared vision to life with consistency and excellence. The ideal candidate is both creative and organized—someone who values collaboration, understands the “why” behind the content, and enjoys turning shared vision into meaningful digital engagement.
Role Responsibilities:
Collaborate, implement, and manage the church's social media strategy in alignment with the leadership vision under the direction of the Communications Director
Create, curate, schedule, and publish content that builds connection and encourages engagement across all channels.
Monitor all social media platforms, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with ministry leaders and the Creative Arts team to ensure a consistent message and brand identity across all digital content.
Stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, tools, and technologies.
Participate in planning discussions and offer insights based on trends and performance.
Review key metrics and collaborate on content improvements.
Apply best practices to strengthen reach, engagement, and consistency.
Contribute ideas that improve tools, processes, and team workflows.
Personal Responsibilities:

Live in such a way that your witness, example, service to others, and worship does not become a stumbling block. (I Timothy 3:2 and Acts 15:19).
Work towards a tithe (10%) to Jesus and the mission of Calvary.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Proven experience managing or supporting social media for a brand, organization, or ministry.
Formal training or working knowledge of social media strategy, content planning, and audience engagement.
Deep knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and their respective analytics tools.
Hands-on experience capturing content, including camera operation, lighting, and audio considerations.
Proficiency with content creation and editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite preferred).
Experience with social media scheduling and management platforms (e.g., Meta Business Manager, CoSchedule, Hootsuite).
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to follow brand standards while contributing creative ideas.
Ability to think creatively, objectively and strategically about content to drive engagement.
Teachable, humble, mission minded
Portfolio or examples of previous social media or content work required.
