Material Handler (2nd Shift Outdoor) at SkySource Solutions – Linden, California

Location: Linden, CA

Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM; may flex to 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM due to overtime)

Pay Rate: $18/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. The person in this role is responsible for ensuring organic or chemical materials flow through shakers and mixers. Duties also include housekeeping to prevent material buildup, removing scrap, re-stacking inventory, and maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

You will also be responsible for general warehouse upkeep, including sweeping, shoveling, restacking pallets, inventory counts, manual materials handling, and other tasks as needed to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Work will take place both indoors and outdoors, so you must be comfortable working in all weather conditions including rain, snow, and heat.

What You’ll Do in This Role

• Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved
• Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Convey materials to or from storage or work sites using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device
• Secure lifting attachments to materials and move loads using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signal operators to do so
• Lift heavy objects manually or with power hoist
• Clean work areas, machines, and equipment using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds to assist machine operators
• Make simple adjustments or repairs, such as realigning belts or replacing rollers, using hand tools
• Assemble crates to contain products using hand tools and precut lumber

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Willingness and ability to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends (shift differential and overtime available)
• Ability to work in a dusty environment and get hands dirty
• Physical ability to perform tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb in and out of equipment and sit for extended periods
• Commitment to performing all job functions safely
• Positive attitude and willingness to be coached
