Main Purpose: Maintain and repair a variety of construction equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Assist in the training of B and C level mechanics.
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in the heavy/mobile equipment repair industry.
- Knowledge of all aspects of heavy and/or mobile equipment.
- Familiarity with gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Capability to perform tasks independently.
- Must have own hand tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Main Responsibilities:
- Read diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals on equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment.
- Repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
- Maintain knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems through ongoing training, industry workshops, and technical reading.
- Carry out preventative maintenance programs for mobile equipment.
- Observe competitive activities and contribute to the company’s image and reputation.
- Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
- Follow driving guidelines for assigned company vehicles.
- Identify and request replacement parts to perform repairs.
- Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Understand and comply with Sparrows Offshore’s Quality Policy and all requirements of the Quality System manual.
- Comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
