Job Description
Manager BH Court Operations
Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Leadership and through coordination with the department directors, managers, and supervisors, the Manager BH Court Ops Plan and Design works independently to oversee the day-to-day operations of the following critical support functions, including management of subordinate employees working in these areas: all documentation and coordination related to the mental health commitment process for all Valleywise Behavioral Health Centers (Desert Vista, Annex and Maryvale).
Annual Salary Range: $89,897.50 - $132,600.00
Qualifications
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform assigned tasks.
- Prefer a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively, responsible psychiatric or legal services experience demonstrating a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Requires prior supervisory/management experience, preferably within a support services function in a healthcare organization.
- Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member’s scope of practice.
- Prior experience in healthcare staffing is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be knowledgeable of all facets of the mental health commitment process in the State of Arizona, including the applicable Arizona Revised Statutes.
- Must have a good working knowledge of general management practices and principles and understand the Valleywise Health Merit Rules.
- Must have the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
- Must be approachable, people-oriented, and a good listener.
- Must be a change agent able to develop, implement, and maintain policies and processes.
- Requires the ability to be a creative, independent thinker.
- Must exhibit professionalism, customer service, enthusiasm, and the ability to build relationships with business and key stakeholders.
- Must possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills and utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control, and coordinate activities.
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English, including professional-level grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage.
