Job Title: Unit Cleaner
Organization: Boise City / Ada County Housing Authorities (BCACHA)
Type: Full-Time, 10-hour shifts from Monday – Thursday
Location: 1001 S. Orchard St., Boise, Idaho 83705
Salary: $19.45 per hour

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority has an opening for a full time apartment unit cleaner. The apartment unit cleaner is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and preparing vacant and occupied units within public housing properties to ensure they meet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. This role supports the Housing Authority’s mission by helping maintain safe, sanitary, and dignified living environments for residents.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform detailed cleaning of vacant units (“unit turns”) to prepare apartments for new residents.
• Clean and sanitize kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, hallways, and storage spaces.
• Wash, scrub, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish surfaces as needed.
• Clean refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, cabinets, and other appliances.
• Clean windows, blinds, baseboards, doors, and interior fixtures.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
• Assist with cleaning common areas when requested (laundry rooms, hallways, community rooms).
• Work efficiently to meet unit turnover timelines and quality standards.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous professional cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, materials, and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must pass background checks required by the Housing Authority.

• Reliability and consistent attendance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
