Charlotte Mechanical is a well-respected mechanical contractor in the Charlotte area, known for quality work and strong relationships. We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking high-quality, dedicated team members to join us. We are currently looking for an experienced Hilti Total Station Survey Operator to support and continue our positive growth.

Position Summary

The Hilti Total Station Survey Operator will play a critical role in the layout and installation of plumbing and HVAC sleeves on elevated concrete decks. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with general contractors and internal site supervision teams. The operator will utilize a Hilti Total Station system (similar to a Trimble system) to ensure accurate layout and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform layout of plumbing and HVAC sleeves using a Hilti Total Station
  • Install sleeves on elevated concrete decks according to project plans and specifications
  • Coordinate layout schedules with general contractors and Charlotte Mechanical site supervisors
  • Verify accuracy of layouts and make adjustments as needed
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper use and calibration
  • Follow all safety standards and company procedures
Requirements:
  • 2–3 years of experience using a Total Station (Hilti or similar system)
  • 5–10 years of plumbing and/or mechanical (HVAC) field experience
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing and/or HVAC systems
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have a clean criminal background
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have a clean driving record
