Position Title: Fitness Attendant

Department: Pool / Fitness Center

Reports To: Pool / Fitness Manager

Position Summary

The Fitness Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in the fitness center. This role assists members with basic equipment use, ensures facility rules are followed, and keeps the gym organized and sanitized for all members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests entering the fitness center in a friendly and professional manner.
• Monitor the fitness floor to ensure safe and proper use of equipment.
• Wipe down and sanitize machines, free weights, mats, and equipment regularly.
• Ensure all equipment is returned to its proper location after use.
• Provide basic guidance on operation of fitness equipment when needed.
• Enforce fitness center policies, including age restrictions and safety rules.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility including floors, mirrors, and workout areas.
• Assist with preparation and setup for fitness classes or wellness programs.
• Support members with towels, water, or general assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Friendly and professional customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and gym safety practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly with members and staff.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized.
• CPR/AED certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift or move light to moderate equipment (up to 30 lbs.).
• Comfortable working in an active fitness environment.

Work Environment

• Indoor fitness center environment.
• It includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
