Harriman is growing! We are looking for a Senior Architect for our Higher Education studio to join our team and join our full-service practice. With a holistic, ground-up approach to design, our architectural staff works closely with the firm’s integrated engineering groups to fulfill our mission to design relevant and innovative solutions to human needs. Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Architect is responsible for preparing plans, specifications, or approval of materials and construction. They may be responsible for managing a small team of architects and designers for a wide variety of Higher Education projects. They apply sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in broad array of assignments required to execute a project from start to finish. They are able to act independently regarding architectural methods and complexities. Supervision and guidance from their supervisor mainly concerns client relationships, overall project objectives, critical design and technical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

Requirements:

We’re looking for an experienced architect to support our thriving Higher Education practice. The successful candidate would have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 7 Years of Experience.
  • Candidates with prior Higher Education experience preferred.
  • Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited University, or sufficient years of professional experience to obtain licensure where allowed by the State Licensing Board.
  • Licensed as an Architect in Maine, New Hampshire and/or Massachusetts.
  • LEED Accredited Professional desired.
  • Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
  • Skill and Experience with all aspects of project delivery including conceptual design and programming, schematic design, design development, construction document production, consultant coordination, client interaction, construction administration, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of building, accessibility, and life safety codes.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest
