Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Loan Syndications Associate in/at our Dallas, TX office.

Description:

The Loan Syndication Associate Reporting is responsible for supporting the commercial sales team through management of the loan syndication origination and amendment process from origination to close, ensuring accuracy of underwriting and efficient execution of multi-bank transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support deal origination by drafting pitch materials incorporating an analysis of capital structure, credit profile, publicly available data on companies and transactions, and industry research.
  • Prepare market comparables, initial due diligence lists, deal pre-screen presentations, and draft indicative term sheets.
  • Assist in the execution of lead-arranged transactions by preparing marketing materials (Confidential Information Memorandums, lender presentations), organizing bank meetings; assisting in the negotiation of legal documentation and assisting in the closing process.
  • Interface with banker coverage and other partners to assist in the coordination and execution of transactions and to effectively meet deal timelines.
  • Develop business and credit judgment as well as provide balanced assessments in working with internal team members and partners.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of the department pipeline.
  • Manage the collection and input of comparative transaction data into an existing database.
  • Conduct market research to determine market comparative data on pricing and structure.
  • Assess strengths and weaknesses of agented deals in order to assist in the marketing process.
  • Interact with other departments across the bank.
  • Obtain and analyze pertinent financial and credit data to assist in determining the risk of the loan request(s), including building, and updating financial models.

Education / Experience Preferred:

  • Business Degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar degree field required.
  • Two accounting courses and one course in finance, economics or related business classes.
  • Experience preparing financial models and forecasts preferred.
  • Completion of a formal credit training program.
  • Minimum of 2 years banking experience.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.

Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.

Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees may spend extended periods sitting or standing, using hands to operate computers or other equipment, and reaching for work-related tasks. Regular walking may be required, along with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
