Respite Support Staff (Overnight or Day Shift) – Hope House
$20.00/hr. + $0.50/hr. Overnight Differential | Full-Time & Part-Time Options

As a Respite Support Staff at Hope House, you provide a safe, structured, and respectful environment for adults experiencing homelessness who need a short-term place to rest and stabilize.
This program serves women and individuals who identify as female.
This role is centered on human connection, consistency, and emotional intelligence. You’ll build rapport with guests during their stay—offering support, being a resource, and sometimes simply being a calm, steady presence—while maintaining clear and professional boundaries.
This is also a strong entry point role for those interested in behavioral health, housing, or human services. Many team members use this position to explore the field and grow into other roles within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming, calm, and respectful environment
- Build appropriate rapport with guests while maintaining professional boundaries
- Serve as a resource and steady point of contact during each shift
- Use de-escalation and conflict resolution skills as needed
- Monitor the environment to ensure safety and stability
- Support daily routines, including meals and light cleaning
- Connect guests with resources and support services
- Complete basic documentation and shift notes
- Work independently during assigned shifts

Relevant experience may include:
- Customer service, hospitality, front desk, concierge
- Shelter, housing, or community-based programs
- Behavioral health, peer support, or recovery services
- Crisis response, de-escalation, or community services
- Overnight Shift: Saturday & Sunday | 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM (+ $0.50/hr differential)
- Day Shift: Saturday & Sunday | 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Additional hours available (up to full-time)
- Age 21+
- Ability to pass background check
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
- Ability to work independently, especially nights and weekends
- Willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/Food Handler’s Permit (employer supported)
- $20.00/hr + overnight differential
- 8 paid holidays + up to 5 floating holidays
